Karawaika Cottage is an excellent place for your birding holidays and other outdoor activities close to the nature. The lodge has a 2000 m2 terrace garden and a marvellous 20 km free view over the Dnjestr Delta. It is located 30 minutes away from the Odessa Airport. The area is especially famous for its Glossy Ibis and all Herons. Wetland and mudflats are heaven to a great number of migrating waders and waterfowl both in spring and autumn and nearby fields host thousands of geese (mainly Red breasted and White-fronted but also some Lesser-white fronted) in March, and April. White-tailed Eagles, Pelicans are flying by regularly. Besides the delta and liman(s), steppe can be found on travel distance.Services:
Birdwatching is most productive from the end of March till early October, but interesting birds can be found also in late autumn and winter. Professional English-speaking bird guides are available on request. They are able to present current updates on bird activity and provide diverse means of transport. Many target species of birds can be found in the reed beds and swamp forest along the river and its delta, but also 200 meters away along the Dnjestr river. From the Cottage nature excursions by boat are organised throughout the Dnjestr wetlands and Liman. Also day trips to other limans and steppe can be organised by prior arrangement.Guestrooms:
Karawaika Cottage offers comfortable accommodation for leisure travellers. It carries a 3-star rating and provides a living with a fireplace, 3 double/twin no-smoking rooms (on request 2 double spare rooms available). There are toilets, bathroom with bath and showers. There is TV, a kitchen and veranda. The house has heating all year around. In summer 2 cool basement rooms are available. Further are a washing machine and Wi-Fi available. Local fresh food is served in the lodge. Free parking.
