The village of Dadia is located 67 km from the city of Alexandroupolis and is nestled in the foothills of south-east Rhodopi Mountain, just along the three-way borders between Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey. Its name originates from the abundant "dadi" (torch) wood. Dadia is a charming village that owes its fame to Dadia protected Forest. The National Park is a mosaic of mature forest, meadows and clear streams. Its fauna boasts 220 bird species, 40 reptiles and amphibians and 48 mammals. Rich and diverse flora consists of coniferous trees, oaks, willows and a few rare and endemic species. The National Park is worldwide renowned for its diversity of birds of prey (36 species recorded), including Imperial, Lesser Spotted, Golden, Short-toed and Booted Eagles, Levant, Lesser Kestrel, Long-legged Buzzard and 3 species of vulture including the last 80 pairs of Black Vulture in SE Europe. Cretzschmar's Bunting, Masked Shrike, Rock Nuthatch, Orphean, Sub-alpine, Sardinian and Olive-tree Warblers are also breeding here

On the edge of Dadia village, there is an Infocenter, which maintains a photographic exhibition. A Minibus will pick you up to take you to the observatory, where, experienced English-speaking guides are available on request to show you the local raptors using spotting scopes. Photographers and birders may follow the marked paths inside the magical Dadia forest. Binoculars and bicycles are available at low rates! The "Forest Inn Ecolodge" lies just next to the Infocenter. A unique breakfast buffet is daily prepared, based on traditional Greek recipes and products. Coffees, refreshments, and local delicacies are served at "Cuppa Café" Alternatively, you can explore the Evros Delta, one of the largest wetlands of Europe! A significant number of rare birds nest here, such as Purple Heron, Little Bittern, Ferruginous Duck and Ruddy Shelduck. In winter, you can see Spotted and White-tailed Eagles, Dalmatian Pelicans, flamingos, White-headed Ducks, Red-breasted and Lesser White-fronted Geese.

The "Forest Inn Ecolodge" of Dadia offers 20 standard double/twin or superior/executive double/twin rooms, with furnished balconies facing either the garden or the forest.
