Location:

Stikāni Guesthouse is located at the edge of the of Orenīšu fish-pond system. Surrounded by mature trees, an apple orchard, natural meadows and wetlands, it is inevitably a natural breeding area for a great many birds. One awakens in the morning to be greeted by the calls of Golden Orioles, Thrush Nightingales and Great Reed Warblers, and to the spectacle of thousands of waterfowl - swans, geese, ducks - on the ponds or fields. 244 bird species have been recorded in the Lake Lubāns wetland zone, many of them viewable from the guesthouse environs. From April to September our garden also presents an outstanding array of butterfly and dragonfly species. Owned by experienced birdwatchers the guesthouse is open throughout the year.

Services:

Stikāni guesthouse is an ideal birdwatching-base, suitable for small groups (up to 8 people), individual birdwatchers and wildlife photographers alike; an English speaking birding guide is available on request. Equipment - tripods, field scopes, binoculars, field guides for birds, dragonflies and butterflies - are also available, and private transport may be arranged. For our guests we offer excellent home made food, with tea/coffee breaks. Early breakfasts and packed lunches are available on request, also use of our fully equipped kitchen. From the dining room guests are able to access a peaceful garden terrace, for the tranquil enjoyment of warm evenings or early mornings. Next to the Guesthouse there is a birdwatchers/photographers information centre, featuring a fully equipped exhibition hall for small workshops or photographic presentations.

Guestrooms:

Stikāni guesthouse offers 3 double rooms and one family room (up to 4 people), containing all amenities and including catering services. It has four en-suite double/twin or single rooms with all facilities - WC and shower in each room. Free wi-fi is available in all rooms.
